Using this CDROM

Internet Explorer

This CDROM has been designed to open automatically in a browser (Internet Explorer) on Microsoft Windows machines. It is best viewed with 16 Bit colour settings and a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels.  To change the resolution:

  1. Go to Start.
  2. Choose Settings then Control Panel.
  3. Double click Display.
  4. Click on Settings tab.
  5. Slowly slide the bar and choose 1024 x 768.

This CDROM is compatible with Internet Explorer (IE) 6.0 and above, and Firefox version 2 and above. The latest version of IE is available for download from the Microsoft website.

Apple Macintosh

  1. Open Safari or Firefox.
  2. Go to File then Open File....
  3. Locate the CDROM on your Desktop and click Open.
  4. Select Index.htm in the CDROM folder and click Open.

Java | JavaScript

This CDROM may make use of JavaScript for content presentation and browser functions. To use this CDROM your Web Browser must have JavaScript Enabled.

How to Enable Java | JavaScript

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x, 6.x and 7.x (Windows)

  1. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu or, for Version 7, from Tools in the upper right portion of your screen.
  2. Click the Security tab.
  3. Click Custom level… in Security level for this zone.
  4. Scroll down to Scripting, near the bottom of the list.
  5. Under Active scripting, choose Enable.
  6. Click OK to leave Security Settings. Click OK to leave Internet Options.

Safari (Macintosh)

  1. Select Preferences... from the Safari drop-down menu.
  2. Select the Security section from the options at the top of the pop-up page.
  3. Under “Web Content,” check the “Enable plug-ins,” “Enable Java” and “Enable JavaScript” boxes.
  4. Close the Security window.

(Mozilla) Firefox 1.5 and 2.0

  1. Select Options... from the Tools drop-down menu.
  2. Select the Content section from the options at the top of the pop-up page.
  3. Check the “Block pop-up windows,” “Load images automatically” and “Enable JavaScript” boxes.
  4. Click OK.

Adobe® Reader

You will need Adobe® Reader version 6.0 or greater installed on your computer to be able to view the pdf files. This can be downloaded directly from the software manufacturer, Adobe® The pdf files have been designed to open within Internet Explorer. If you experience problems opening a pdf file from the browser, try opening the application (Adobe®) and then open the file directly from the application. You can also open the file directly from your CD ROM drive (accessed via Windows Explorer or equivalent)

Video

The video clips should open by clicking on the required link. The video file should then automatically launch the Windows Media Player or Quicktime Player on your computer.

If you experience problems opening a video file try opening the file directly from your CDROM drive (accessed via Windows Explorer or equivalent). To open the video file you need to open or click the .wmv / .mp4 / .mpg file and then the video file should launch your media player automatically. You could also try opening your media player application (Windows Media Player, Quicktime Player) and then open the file directly from within that application.

You will need a Windows Media Player (on a Windows machine) to be able to view the video files. This can be downloaded directly from the software manufacturer, Microsoft.

You will need Quicktime Player (on a Macintosh Machine) to be able to view the video files. This can be downloaded directly from the software manufacturer, Apple.

Audio

The audio tracks should open by clicking on the required link. The audio file should then automatically launch the Windows Media Player on your computer (Microsoft Windows) or your default media player on Apple Macintosh (Quicktime Player or iTunes).

If you experience problems opening an audio file try opening the file directly from your CDROM drive (accessed via Windows Explorer or equivalent).
