There is ongoing debate regarding the number of people who additionally die, or who are affected, as a result of climate change.  The issues here are complex to disentangle, with the Global Humanitarian Forum (2009) Human Impact Report- Climate Change: The Anatomy of a Silent Crisis presenting the most compelling information to date in this debate. This report suggests that every year climate change leaves over 300,000 people dead, 325 million seriously affected, and estimated economic losses of USD 125 billion.
