The Project Management Cycle (Figure 4.2) is a useful framework for the three main stages encountered during project management, namely Project Planning, Implementation, and Post-project. This role of monitoring, reports, reviews, and post-project evaluations can be clearly recognised in the Implementation and Post-project stages of the Project Management Cycle. You may already be familiar with a number of similar project management cycles used by industries and if you have studied previous emergency management subjects you will know the cycle of Project Initiation, Project Planning, Project Execution and Project Closure.
The Project Management Cycle process is particularly useful for project management in the Recovery and Normal/Risk reduction stages of the Disaster Risk Management Cycle.
