Topic 4: principles and models of exercises
Overview
In Topic 1 we reviewed the Risk Assessment/Hazard Analysis and Planning Processes. In Topic 2 you produced Standard Operating Procedures in respect of the hazards you identified during the planning process. In Topic 3 you examined these SOP and conducted a Training Needs Analysis and developed training strategies for one or more positions within your SOP.
In this topic we examine the basic framework for developing an exercise by explaining the essential principles of exercise management and how these principles can be transformed into a useful model from which we can operate.
We will use this exercise management model to explore the steps necessary in planning and conducting an exercise and the sorts of activities that are involved at each step in topic 5.
