Topic 2: Standard operating procedures
Overview
This topic details the requirements for developing standard operating procedures (SOP) based on the emergency management plan you developed during EMG103.
On completion of this topic and its associated work requirements you will have produced an assessable set of standard operating procedures for one organisation involved in your emergency management plan.

After completing the work for this topic, you should be able to:
- state what standard operating procedures (SOP) are, why SOP are required and how they relate to the emergency management plan;
- list and describe the contents of SOP;
- use a matrix to define the procedures to be carried out by personnel within an organisation;
- produce SOP for an organisation based on an emergency management plan.
