Topic 6: Resource needs analysis

Overview

Resource needs analysis is a powerful technique for determining, with your planning group, what you need to be doing in emergency management to address your particular hazard/s. It examines the resources, broadly defined, that exist and that are required, the difference between these two, and who is responsible for acquiring or using the resource.

This topic addresses the technique of resource needs analysis, provides an example of its application to prevention/mitigation, and allows you to practice applying the technique to these aspects of emergency management. Topic 8 continues the discussion of resource needs analysis and its application to preparedness, response and recovery.
