Topic 11: Planning for specific hazards and functions
Overview
It is a basic principle of emergency management that as many of the arrangements as possible should be sufficiently flexible to cover all hazards and functions. However, there is often a need to develop plans for specific purposes. There are, of course, many differences in the content of plans developed for specific hazards and functions. The planning process for the different plans is not likely to differ greatly, but the technical requirements of different hazards and functions must be taken into account.
Learning outcomes
After completing the work for this topic, you should be able to:
- list some of the hazards and functions that may require specific planning;
- describe the likely content of some hazard-specific and function-specific plans.
