Function-specific plans

Function-specific plans (sometimes called 'functional plans') are those that are designed to enable given sets of tasks to be carried out smoothly and in a coordinated fashion. These sets of tasks or functions almost invariably relate to response and recovery activities.

Some of the response and recovery functions that benefit by planning include:

The plan for each of these functions requires many of the basic features of plans, such as a description of the problem being addressed, management structure, a description of roles and responsibilities, the alerting and warning procedure and phases, and perhaps contact numbers. But they may also require information specific to the given function.
