Emergency recovery planning

Do you have emergency recovery plans or strategies and procedures in place? If so, do they cover the following?

Health and medical arrangements Have both the ambulance and hospital services planned and been trained for the handling of mass casualties? Are they aware of each other's arrangements? Are there emergency field medical teams? Who manages these on-site?
Registration and inquiry Is there a system for registering evacuated or injured people? Is there a system for providing this information to bona fide inquirers? Do members of the public know how to contact the registration and inquiry system?
Welfare Are there arrangements for feeding and accommodating people? Are these linked to the registration and inquiry system and the evacuation procedures?
Critical incident stress management Are there arrangements for the counselling of the public and emergency workers? Who is responsible for providing this service and who pays for it?
Private insurance Are there any arrangements for expediting the assessment of damage to private property and the payment for losses? Do the insurance companies have any cooperative arrangements between themselves? Where, when and how do the public access insurance companies? What is the insurance company policy on makeshift repairs or repairs to minimise damage?
Legal advice Do you have access to legal advisers during emergency response and recovery operations? Is there a system for providing legal advice to disaster affected persons?
Appeal management Do you know who is likely to begin public appeals for donations to disaster affected persons? How can you coordinate these appeals? How do you ensure equitable disbursement of appeal money?
Restoration of public utilities and services Who is responsible for each service? How long should it take to repair each service from the predicted levels of damage? How are alternative services to be arranged if required?
Continuity of management/ government Is there a threat to the existence or continuity of management or government? Who is responsible for planning for this?
