Topic 4: Recovery principles and concepts
Overview
Recovery from a disaster is most effective where recovery management arrangements provide a comprehensive and integrated framework for managing all potential emergencies and where assistance measures are provided in a timely, equitable, fair manner and are sufficiently flexible to respond to a diversity of community needs. A number of principles pertaining to recovery management are discussed in this Topic.
It is important that you are able to give a succinct rationale for your role and responsibilities within a community recovering from disaster, and understanding the principles of recovery will assist you.
