Activity 5.3 - Assignment

I would like you to begin describing the hazards that have been chosen by your planning group as the priority hazards according to the perceived political, social and economic impact. These descriptions hopefully will be enhanced at your next planning group meeting.
It is recommended, for the purposes of this assignment, that you choose three to five hazards for analysis. You will not have time to analyse more than these in sufficient depth, given the requirement to analyse the community and the environment also.
Hint: Only describe hazards to the degree of detail that you believe may be necessary for emergency prevention, preparedness, response and recovery. In effect this means that you are mainly after the causes and potential effects of hazards. In order to determine the effects, you will need to combine the hazard description with the description of the community, and you will be doing this later.
