Topic 13: Conclusions and recommendations

Overview

As part of each Topic within each subject we have been advising you to consider your conclusions and recommendations.

It has been our experience over the last few years that there has been some confusion about the distinction between conclusions and recommendations. This has at times had some effect on the marks awarded because of the importance placed on these two elements.

Learning outcomes

After completing the work on this Topic you should be able to:

• provide conclusions on the pre-impact and impact phase emergency management arrangements relating to your selected event;
• provide recommendations on how the event could better managed in the future.
