Conclusion

Assignment preparation

You should now have an understanding of why we require conclusions and recommendations to be provided in your major report (Assignment 2). Hopefully, you should now be able to write your conclusions and recommendations with more confidence.

One final tip: there should be a clear audit trail that links your recommendations to your conclusions and your conclusions to the information enclosed within the body of your work. Assessors of your assignments will have difficulty in accepting any recommendations or conclusions that have no foundation in data and information contained within your report. If there is no apparent basis for your conclusions and recommendations then they would have to questions your judgement.

On method that I have used successfully is to make a broad, draft conclusion as I am drafting up the discussion etc. within the body of my major report. As I note something of importance that has the potential to be improved, I jump to the Conclusions and Recommendations section and make a draft conclusion related to that information discussed and with that conclusion make a recommendation or recommendations that will improve the management of that specific aspect of emergency management for future events.
