Case study - The specific effects on the city of Darwin and the implications

The study of evacuation of Darwin following Cyclone Tracey is one of the three studies that were undertaken into the effects of mass evacuations. The Other studies are of Missassagua in Canada, and Three Mile Island in the United States of America.

I will use some of the findings from the Darwin study to highlight some of the long term aspects that emergency managers should consider when considering evacuation and the effects and implications that evacuation will have on a large population.
