Read I would now like you to read your text the Australian Emergency Manual – Evacuation Planning. The manual is available on your Course Resources CDROM and is also available online at the following link: or, you can alternately visit the Emergency Management Australia web site http://www.ema.gov.au and follow the links to the Australian Emergency Manual series through their “Publications” link. The above text, together with the information you have collected about your selected emergency/disaster event and the study material you have worked through in this Topic will enable you to analyse the evacuation management strategies implemented during the impact phase of your selected event. Alternately, if there was no evacuation effected, you should be able to analyse the evacuation strategies that were in place at the time had an evacuation been required and comment on the effectiveness of those strategies. You should now start to collect your thoughts together and commence drafting the Evacuation section of your major report (Assignment 2). Use the Assignment Guidelines and example Marking Sheet provided in the subject outline to identify the aspects of evacuation management that you are required to address in your major report (Assignment 2). Identifying strengths and weaknesses associated with the evacuation management will enable you to draw appropriate conclusions and make suitable recommendations in the final section of your major report (Assignment 2). |
